About the studio
A small workshop with a long view.
Bespoke Design Lab is a fine woodworking studio. We make a handful of pieces each year, each one designed and built start to finish by the same hands.
Wood first, then form.
We believe good furniture is quiet. It doesn't shout for attention — it simply fits, ages well, and earns its place over decades. That belief shapes everything: the species we choose, the joinery we cut, the finishes we rub in by hand.
Drawing on a Scandinavian tradition of honest materials and restrained form, we let timber lead. Every board is selected for its grain, then worked so the design serves the wood rather than fighting it.
Nothing leaves the workshop that we wouldn't keep ourselves.
Three commitments.
Honest materials
Solid timber, traditional joinery, natural oils and waxes. No veneer over particleboard, no shortcuts hidden from view.
Considered design
Proportion before decoration. We refine a piece until nothing more can be removed without losing it.
Made to last
We build so a piece can be taken apart, repaired, and passed on — the opposite of disposable.
